Corey Fuller, UCO Alumni and OBU Design Professor, recently released his new project, Potluck Posters. If you're wondering what it is, his description explains it the best:

"Email us your original text (or "copy" as it's called in the biz) and receive, by mail, an 18x24-inch poster emblazoned with your message. Every Potluck Poster is a unique, graphical interpretation of your message, crafted with care and randomness."

To get an idea of what you're in for, check out his last project (which we failed to post), The Daily Archifact. It involved designing a poster everyday for a year, and recently showed at Space 38/39 in New York City. Definately an awesome project and glad to see some OK repping in the Big Apple.

    Check it out.

TulsaEGO is bringing us some more awesome film news. They first posted last year about Unknown State, a science fiction film shot entirely in Oklahoma. Who knew so many worlds could be found in our little state? Here's a first glimpse at the film's trailer:

Here are a few more stills from the film:

This definately looks promising and we'll be keeping our eyes out for future distribution.

  • Steuben's vs Tuckers vs Big Jake's

If you remember, we discussed Tucker's close resemblance of the Steuben's logo back in September. It's come to our attention that another local restaurant, Big Jake's, just happened to borrow the same logo. We guess they justified their actions by tilting it and frankensteining some flames and the words "Big" on it. This is a blatant rip off of an already existing 'copy' of a logo. We are taught since we are little kids not to copy other people's work, but that's not stopping them. We hope Big Jake's realizes this and decides to create their OWN branding.

Local spot by Created by Agent for Cherokee Communications, based out of Calera, OK (Yes, we can to google where that was too). The spot isn't anything to write home about, but it has a nice homely feel, which is in stark contrast of the corporate-y cox ads were flooded with. And let's be honest, we're all tired of telling everyone that we get our internet from "COX."

Looks like a couple studios are getting in the spirit and decided to spruce up their facebook pages. These were the only two we saw today (so if you know of any others, let us know). It almost seems like an Auto Alley showdown (probably not intentional) Either way, both have fun concepts. We'd say Round 1 goes to Funnel though.

....and Deadcenter Film Festival. Speaking of which, we're unable to make it out this year, anyone catch any good local indie films this year? What's the buzz?
